For this week's featured Raleigh zip code, we're moving east to 27604. This zip code counts a section of Capital Boulevard by I-440 and New Bern Avenue (a.k.a HWY 64) as its main drags.

Lifestyle Destinations

Though primarily residential, 27604 does count Hedingham Golf Club as a popular spot for folks looking to hit the green. The 18-hole course is also accompanied by a larger community that we'll cover in the next section. Several neighborhoods in this zip code also offer easy access to Raleigh's Greenway. There may not be much retail action in this area now but the city is planning some major things involving the makeover of the Capital Boulevard Corridor.

Neighborhoods & Properties

Neighborhoods near downtown continue to see an influx of buyers. Mordecai Place, for instance, boasted 18 sales in 2014. Most of those homes were originally built in the 40's and 50's and it is becoming quite the trend to acquire those types of historic properties to makeover. Close by, Woodcrest had 14 sales and those buyers continue to invest in this smaller neighborhood snatching up homes from the 50's and 60's.

Further east within the zip code, Hedingham has continued turnover. This golf community is surrounded by a mix of attached and detached housing at affordable prices compared to other areas in Raleigh.

Sales History

Last year, a total of 620 were sold in 27604. Of that total, 498 were detached homes versus 122 townhomes/condos. The average length on the market for both property types ranged from 50 to 75 days. Check out the Triangle MLS tables below to see what home prices are like in the area.
