South Raleigh is not as dense as other sections of town and actually includes a large, unincorporated area of homes the further south you move. Garner borders parts of South Raleigh and actually is more convenient for many area residents than Raleigh.
There is no immediate shopping center in South Raleigh, but nearby Garner is filled with shopping and so is Cary. The state farmers market is located on the southern part of Raleigh, too. They draw from all over, but it’s in South Raleigh!

The unincorporated sections of South Raleigh can offer awesome neighborhoods with larger lots for privacy and greater affordability that other, more central parts of Raleigh.
